About this product

This transit wheelchair is made to be pushed by a carer or family member. It weighs 10 kg, folds on a dual cross-brace frame to 28 cm wide, and has carry handles built into the seat, so lifting it into a car boot or storing it at home is straightforward.

Hand brakes on the push handles let the carer slow down and stop, and parking brakes hold the chair still while the person gets in or out. The padded seat and backrest use 600D Oxford fabric with breathable mesh. Swivel 6-inch front castors and 12-inch rear wheels steer easily indoors and along footpaths, and the solid tyres do not need pumping up.

Seat width is 43 cm, depth 41 cm and height 44 cm, with a 100 kg safe working load. If the person wants to push themselves, the self-propelled EW2000H20 has 20-inch rear wheels; this chair's 12-inch wheels are for a carer to push. An OT can advise whether a transit chair suits the person and check the seat size.
