Ordering with Support at Home
How it works
- 1.Talk to your providerYour Support at Home provider arranges equipment and home modifications from your support plan. Tell them you would like Joy Ours to quote, or send us their details and we will contact them.
- 2.Assessment where neededSimple, low-risk items can often be ordered straight away. Larger or more complex items usually need an OT or other assessor to prescribe them first. Send us the prescription and we quote against it.
- 3.Quote, approval and deliveryWe send a formal quote to your provider. Once they approve it, we deliver and set up the equipment, with a home trial on selected items.
Who we invoice
- Through your provider
- We invoice your Support at Home provider, who pays from your AT-HM or ongoing services budget. You get a copy.
- Unspent Home Care Package funds
- If you moved over from a Home Care Package, your provider may use those funds first. They handle this; we invoice them the same way.
- Paying yourself
- You can also buy privately while you wait for an assessment or funding. Ask your provider first if you hope to be reimbursed.
Questions
Is every product covered by AT-HM funding?
No. The government publishes an AT-HM list of what can and cannot be funded, and funding is set in tiers. Your provider and assessor decide what fits your assessed needs. We can tell you what a product is and what it costs; we cannot approve funding.
I am on CHSP, not Support at Home. Can I still order?
Yes. Commonwealth Home Support Programme providers can order equipment for clients, and you can always buy privately. Ask your provider how they fund equipment.
Can my OT send the order?
Yes. OTs, case managers and family members often send the prescription or list for the client. We then confirm the quote with the provider.
Do you do home modifications?
Yes. We quote grab rails, ramps, bathroom changes and similar work from an OT report. Larger works go through your provider’s approval like equipment does.
Eligibility and approval are decided by the scheme, not by Joy Ours. For the scheme’s own rules see My Aged Care: AT-HM scheme .
